Servant of God Sr. Rosa of the Heart of Mary 1896—1944

Galina Fadeyevna Yentkevich was born in 1896 in Vitebsk province. She joined the Community of Third Order Dominican Sisters led by Anna Abrikosova (mother Catherine). She took the name of Rosa of the Heart of Mary. She took the supplementary vow of suffering for the conversion to faith in Russia. Together with the other sisters she was arrested in 1923 and sentenced to imprisonment for 5 years. Subsequently she was sentenced to exile for 3 years. She was liberated from the exile, and it was forbidden to her to live in the six major cities of the USSR. In 1935 she was arrested again in Maloyaroslavets in connection with the case against the Catholic clergy, but she was found innocent. In 1942 she went of her own free will to take care of one of the sisters of the Community, who was sent to exile to the village of Novo-Shulba in Semipalatinsk province in Kazakhstan. There she died because of a serious illness, on 11th February 1944. The survived sisters believed that God had accepted her sacrifice.

“It appears that a man can endure much, if he gives himself up to His hands - so God works in us partially and directs all to the only purpose; but as a rule it is not hopelessly or beyond one's strength, and for a slightest effort and for a drop of love He rewards hundredfold, gives an enormous peace of mind, a strength and a new light in the understanding of the eternal verities, which are deserving effort only.”
From the letter of Sr. Rosa of the Heart of Mary.

The prayer for the beatification of the Servant of God Sr. Rosa of the Heart of Mary.

O God Almighty, Your Son suffered on the Cross and died for the salvation of people.
Imitating Him, Your Servant Sr. Rosa of the Heart of Mary loved You from the bottom of her heart, served You faithfully during the persecutions and devoted her life to the Church. Make her known in the assembly of Your blessed, so that the example of her faithfulness and love would shine before the whole world. I pray to You through her intercession, hear my request…..…………through Christ our Lord. Amen.

The prayer has to be used in private, as well as in public, out of the Holy Mass.
